Mowgli cake

This Mowgli cake recipe is a variation to banana-walnut cookies, it just contains cocoa and comes in a different shape. It does feel less sweet and goes great next to a coffee.

  • 150 g flour
  • 2 bananas (190 g)
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 15 g of cocoa powder
  • 90 g of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 80 to 100 g of dried fruits and nuts (I use raisins and walnuts)
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda


  1. Mix the room temperature butter with the sugar and eggs.
  2. Add in the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix the flour with the baking powder and soda and the cocoa powder.
  4. Combine the egg and banana mixture with the dry bowl.
  5. At the end add your choice of dried fruits and nuts.
  6. Pour the dough in a rectangular tin, coated previously with butter and flour or baking paper.
  7. Bake at 180 C for 40 min.
